Led by Lisa Loving Dalton— Sho’s “Kiss My Fist” Woman of The Last Dragon  and renowned stunt double for Meryl Streep, Cher, and Madonna, with her NMCA teaching partner of 32 years, NMSU theatre department head, Wil Kilroy, Author of Improvisation the Michael Chekhov Way, experienced in combat, intimacy, and dozens of directing credits. This intensive combines the Michael Chekhov Technique (used by legends like Clint Eastwood and Johnny Depp) with cutting-edge methods in action and intimacy performance.

What You’ll Experience:

Monday-Tuesday:

Dive into fundamentals of psycho-physical acting and storytelling with SynthAnalysis™, a unique approach to crafting stage pictures and ensemble movement.
Perform Tuesday eve for a live and zoom audience.

Wednesday-Saturday Mornings:

Start your day with yoga, psycho-physical warmups, and innovative movement forms like Eurythmy and Living Speech.

Wednesday-Saturday Midday:

Choose your path—train in Chekhov-inspired combat and intimacy, or explore/apply to present your advanced techniques for experienced Chekhov artists. Learn from Lisa herself on how to apply Chekhov techniques to stunt doubling.

Wednesday-Saturday Afternoons & Evenings:

Collaborate with peers to devise an original script for live performance or filming, using the skills you’ve honed throughout the week.

Sunday:

Showcase your work in a live and Zoom performance for an invited audience!

JoeChapa
*Joe Chapa M.F.A., D.A.I. (Fight Choreographer), UTA Associate Professor

Associate Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington, specializing in theatrical combat and improvisation. He is a certified instructor of combat with Dueling Arts International specializing in broadsword, single rapier, rapier and dagger, smallsword, and quarterstaff combat. His dedication to safety and storytelling in combat choreography has earned him recognition within the performing arts community. He has worked with the NMCA for over 10 years weaving Chekhov Acting techniques with combat and improvisation in the DFW arts community. He is our host for this event at UTA.

Jaddy Ciucci
**Jaddy Ciucci - Actor, teaching artist, intimacy coordinator, and choreographer

20-years of experience. Based in Indianapolis. Jaddy has provided intimacy consulting and choreography for professional theaters and colleges in the area and led workshops on intimacy, boundaries, and consent for organizations including Indiana State University and Earlham College. Since joining NMCA in 2019, Jaddy has explored the intersection of Chekhov with directing, acting, teaching, and, more recently, intimacy coordination and choreography. Jaddy is currently providing intimacy support for several theatrical productions in Indiana, as well as for Stranglehold, the upcoming feature starring Mickey Rourke.

***Scott Russell - AEA actor, SDC Fight Director, Educator

Resident Fight Director for the Phoenix Theatre Cultural Center in Indianapolis. He has taught acting, voice, movement, stage combat, and intimacy at Oklahoma State University, the University of Oklahoma, Ohio State, Taylor University, and more; and currently serves as performance faculty at Franklin College. He is a qualified intimacy choreographer and Full Instructor/Fight Director with Dueling Arts International, AAC with the SAFD, and has worked with the FDC, BASSC, NSFS, and SAFDi. He has been working with the NMCA since 2019.
